YouTube API Services

Lyricit uses YouTube API Services to search public video metadata for song-identification results. We do not download, cache, or provide offline playback of YouTube audiovisual content.

Information we process

We process lyrics or other text you submit, selected language, a pseudonymous Sign in with Apple account identifier, and an Apple relay email address only when Apple provides one. We process YouTube search metadata, including video ID, title, channel title, video URL, and thumbnail URL, to display requested results and confirmed History.

Storage, retention, and deletion

V2 search records, submitted text, candidates, and associated public YouTube API Data are deleted before 30 calendar days through an automated daily cleanup. Confirmed or successfully imported History is stored separately from those ephemeral search records. While History is enabled, its associated YouTube API metadata is periodically refreshed within the applicable retention window; if it cannot be refreshed before expiry, the stale History metadata is removed. Turning History off deletes retained History and stops future refreshes. You may delete your V2 account in Settings; this deletes applicable account-linked data. Session credentials are stored on-device in Keychain. Preferences and legacy local History may be stored in UserDefaults.

Use and service providers

We use this information to authenticate you, perform requested searches, display results, maintain History preferences, prevent abuse, and operate the service. Requests are processed using Cloudflare Workers and D1; YouTube metadata is requested from Google/YouTube. Operational analytics may record service events without raw transcripts. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Website technologies

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Pages Analytics and Cloudflare email protection/decoding. It loads Google Fonts. These services may process technical information and may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies under their own policies; Lyricit does not make an unsupported claim that no such technologies are used.
